About The Book

“Zenu, The Blue Velo” introduces readers to Zenu, a young Velkianous (velociraptor) embarking on his journey into Velkianhood. He lives with his father, mother, and two siblings in the vibrant village of Osgolia, nestled in the region of Chigolia (modern-day Mongolia).

Zenu, distinguished by the uniquely blue hues in his feathers and skin, as well as his uncommon name, frequently feels a sense of embarrassment stemming from these attributes. Zenu also contends with stuttering and obsessive-compulsive tendencies, which challenge him and render his life somewhat more difficult than he would prefer.

Alongside his two close friends, Tsago and Saura, Zenu attends Veshklevin, better known as “The Cretaceous School of Hunting,” where young Velkianous (Velos and Velas) are trained to become skilled hunters. While there, the ever-friendly Saura befriends the enigmatic and carefree Kasnia, despite Zenu and Tsago’s initial reluctance. But, life has a mysterious, if not serendipitous way of shifting one’s existence in unexpected directions. Unbeknownst to Zenu, befriending Kasnia will lead him to confront challenges that will test his courage and reshape his dreams in ways he never imagined.

This enchanting tale explores themes of friendship, bravery, the significance of preserving ancient language, and enduring life’s obstacles all while embracing adventure (and the occasional misadventure). Throughout his journey, Zenu learns valuable lessons about himself and the power of connection.
