West has faced numerous challenges and setbacks throughout his life and career, notably grappling with obsessive compulsive disorder, generalized anxiety, and depression. While he has sought standard medical treatment, he discovered that writing poetry, song lyrics, and now story, serves as the most therapeutic outlet for him. The overarching theme of his poetry explores the journey from “soulless to solace.”
